Diesel Power Challenge 2018 Video Week: Day Five and the Sled Pull
Breaking Records and Trucks on the Final Day of Diesel Power Challenge
Diesel Power Challenge 2018 Presented by XDP was an exciting and comprehensive test of driver skill, truck strength, and teamwork. And if you were wondering what this year’s event was like beyond the glossy pages of the magazine or the coverage on the Truck Trend Network website, you’re in luck, because Diesel Power Challenge 2018 Video Week continues on the Motor Trend Channel on YouTube and on Motor Trend On Demand.
Well, the time has come. The final day of DPC 2018 is upon us, and it brings with it a massive sled, a freshly plowed dirt track, and a few good drivers. Our sled pull took place on the grounds of Bandimere Speedway. Thanks to the taxing weight of the sled and the outrageous power of these trucks, the sled pull claimed the greatest, most permanent damage of DPC 2018, twisting Zach Scoles' rear axle housing clear of its mounting points. And yet, he still managed a good pull, though none could compete with Travis Richards' 312.0-foot run. And with the sled pull over, the judges retired to tally the scores in advance of our final banquet and awards ceremony.
