Diesel Power: What changes are you making to the truck in order to prepare for the event?
Joel Saunders: “We are running a new improved Hamilton Cams camshaft, valvesprings and retainers, larger nozzles, water-meth kit, and amsoil fluids.”
DP: What was your reaction when you got the call to compete?
JS: “I was shocked and had forgotten I had even entered. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. (Hopefully I'll be back again though).”

DP: What tires do you plan to use?
JS: “No idea on tires, yet.”

DP: What is your strategy going to be for each event? What’s the game plan?
JS: “No strategy or game plan, yet.”

DP: What spare parts are you bringing?
JS: “I’m bringing an entire spare parts truck [laughs].”

DP: Who are your crewmembers?
JS: “Jeff Lagasse so far.”

COMPETITION EXPERIENCE
-Joel’s truck has made 830 hp on fuel and 958 hp on nitrous in the past, and with smaller injector nozzles than what’s currently on the truck
-He has drag racing, sled pulling, dyno competition, and trailer towing experience on his side
