It’s getting close to Diesel Power Challenge time again, our yearly event that pits the best diesels from around the country against each other in one place, at one time, to settle who is the baddest in the land. Competitors will be going after last year’s winner, Rocky Horn, in his ’97 Ford F-350 (pictured), and you can bet he’s not willing to give up the title without a fight. Here’s where all you readers out there come in—the trucks that get selected for the 2012 Diesel Power Challenge will be up to you! Pick your top three Dodges, Fords, and GMs, and send in the voting form on page 73. Whoever gets the most votes will be making the trip to face off. Before you ask, the voting has to be three of each make, and you can only vote for a truck once—although you can cut out and send in multiple voting forms. No photocopies of the original form will be counted—the voting has to be through an actual magazine form.

Now, let’s get to the competitors! For Fords this year, we have a bunch of 6.4L trucks, an 1,100hp Canadian 6.0L, and a few engine swaps for those who are fans of the Fummins. General Motors diehards have a bunch of twin-turbo’d, dual CP3 vehicles to pick from, a couple of dyno destroyers, and a serious sled puller or two. The Ram crowd is the most diverse of the bunch, with a 12-second manual-transmission Dodge, a VP44 truck, and two triple-turbo common-rails. Pick the rides you like most and send in your votes by April 1, 2012.
