Once a year, we hold an event like none other. An event that pits 10 of the greatest diesel trucks from across North America against each other in a no-holds-barred fight to the finish. The event is Diesel Power Challenge.

This year, our group of nine new competitors will go up against returning 2012 champion, Erik Clausen and his mean ’08 Ford F-250, and you better believe he’s not going down without a fight! Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to decide which nine trucks will get a chance at the crown. On the following pages, you’ll see 30 of the most powerful diesel trucks in North America. From these you must pick your top three Dodges, Fords, and GMs and mail in the voting form on page 94. The top three vote-earning trucks in each group will get the call to compete. Before you ask, you must vote for three of each make, and you can only vote for a truck once per ballot. No photocopies, photos, or emails of the original ballot will be counted; voting must be done through an authentic printed magazine ballot. However, there is no limit to the amount of ballots you can send in!
Now, a quick preview of this year’s finalists! In the Ford camp we have an overwhelming number of high-power 6.0L Power Strokes, a 6.4L sporting upgraded stock turbos, and not one, but two 6.7L trucks—a first for the competition. The General Motors division brings us more horsepower potential than ever before—an estimated 19,900 combined lb-ft of torque—and seven different compound turbo setups. The Dodge crowd showed up with both P-Pump and VP44 trucks sporting twins and a whole slew of big-power common-rails. Choose the trucks you most want to see compete and make sure to get your votes in by April 1, 2013.
