The Storm is Coming!
The Jeep Trailstorm was one of seven concept vehicles that Jeep and Mopar unveiled here in Moab, Utah, at the 2016 Easter Jeep Safari, and we were there with cameras blazing! The Trailstorm includes a slew of mods including 37-inch tires, a 2-inch suspension lift, and a Moab-inspired camo wrap.

Fred Williams, editor, 4-Wheel & Off-Road: The fact that a Jeep can be this well outfitted with dealer parts is pretty astounding. No, it’s not a tire roasting V8 with bypass shocks, but its built well and more than capable for most Wrangler owners and the parts can all be dealer installed and rolled into your car payment if you have one. This Unlimited looks good, has strong parts even if the digital camo isn’t your thing. I called it a catalog Jeep, but the fact that an OEM part house offers all these parts is pretty awesome.
Christian Hazel, editor, Four Wheeler: They dragged this one through the Mopar Performance catalog and look what stuck. The new wheels are somewhat reminiscent of Dick Cepek DC-2s (but they’re not). The thing you’ll notice right above those Mopar wheels are the raised fender flares, which allow 35-inch tires on a stock suspension. They’re a bit wider than factory flares. I think a raised flare in factory width would be just about perfect.
Ken Brubaker, senior editor, Four Wheeler: I actually really liked this rig. It looked good to me, and it actually worked pretty well off-road, too. To me it’s a great combination of parts that allow the Jeep to excel on-road and off.
Harry Wagner, contributor, Four Wheeler Network: The poor Trailstorm seemed pretty tame compared to the other vehicles. It is impressive to fit 37s on a Wrangler though with a 2-inch Mopar lift and high clearance fenders. My favorite accessory though was the big brake kit to slow those big tires down.
