Slamber Party 2016
Small Town, Big Fun
In 2015, Greg Miller, the pioneer show promoter decided to organize a campground-themed show late in the year. He named it Slamber Party and presented it as a laid-back, old-school, summer-camp-style show and event. Now in its second year, Greg decided to move it to larger campground, choosing Little Black Creek in Lumberton, Mississippi. Slamber Party has lots of entertainment for the entire family, including a BBQ cook-off, corn hole tournament, soapbox derby, canoe relay race, zip lines, hotdog eating contest, live-worm-eating contest, kids Spaghetti-O’s eating contest, Nerf gun war, and best campsite contest.
Aside from the plenty of entertainment, Slamber Party had around 300 truck entries parked around the large trees. DJ Getlow and MC Toasta had the music going throughout the weekend. The sponsors included 360 Customs, AVS, Fallen Mindz, GVG, InkThreads.com, KIK, Rimtyme, Sparkles Detail, and Tuckn. Located on site was Eggroll In Hut providing everyone with local snacks of Boudin, a southern treat wrapped inside an eggroll. Paint master Joe Vincent was on hand pinstriping every need.
Tim and Tonya Morris took home the Best Truck award with their Dodge D50, Trey Goodwin received Best Paint with his GMC 1500, Best Engine was awarded to James Williamson with his bright-green Chevy Blazer, and Acrophobia got the Club Participation award. Greg wishes to thank Little Black Creek for their hospitality, as well as everyone who came out to support Slamber Party 2016.
