Video: Roush Revives Nitemare Name for 2017 Ford F-150 Package #TENSEMA16
Street-Oriented Performance Package Adds Supercharger, Styling Upgrades
Roush is one of those names among Ford performance tuning companies that needs no introduction. The company has been racing and tuning Fords for decades. Best known for its work on Mustangs, the company has lately made a name for itself offering turn-key packages for the F-150 pickup. The latest offering from the company is the 2017 F-150 Nitemare, reviving a name last introduced in 2008 on the F-150. Unlike some of its other packages, the Nitemare is exclusive to F-150s equipped with the 5.0L V-8. At the heart of the Nitemare package is the Eaton TVS supercharger, bringing power to a heady 600 hp and torque to 557 lb-ft, breathing through a single-outlet performance exhaust system.
Giving the Nitemare its unique stylistic flair is a Roush block-letter front grille with marker lights, a Roush front bumper cover, F-150 Nitemare front fender badges, hood and “hockey stick” side graphics, Nitemare tailgate graphic, Roush logo WeatherTech molded floor liners, and a Roush serialized console badge. A leather seating upgrade package is optional.
Although offered in both two- and four-wheel-drive configurations, the theme of the Nitemare is definitely street-oriented performance, emphasized by Continental CrossContact LX22 tires on Roush 22-inch, seven-spoke alloy wheels. The Nitemare package can also be specified on any configuration of truck, including SuperCrew, SuperCab and regular cab. Roush expects the majority of sales to be the SuperCrew configuration. The supercharger and drivetrain upgrades are covered by a 3-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty, and the rest of the truck is covered by the standard Ford new vehicle warranty. The Nitemare is available through select Roush partner Ford dealers, which can be found on Roush’s website at roushperformance.com.
