Revealed At SEMA: Strange Motion’s Awesome 1968 Chevy C10

This Chevy Truck Started As A Driver and Domino’d

Even before we got to the SEMA Show we had been invited to the Las Vegas unveiling of this newly-finished 1968 Chevy C10 pickup, the latest creation from Tim and Carrie Strange from Strange Motion in Morton Grove, Illinois. Since we are longtime fans of the cars and trucks that come out of that shop, combined with the fact that we hardly ever get invited anywhere, we made a point to be at the B&M Racing booth when the cover was pulled back revealing the C10.

Tim told us that this blue metallic C10 is owned by Terry and Sarah Rose, and originally started out (as they all do) as a driver. From there, well, you know how that goes. It now rides on a full custom chassis with a performance-oriented Pro Tour suspension. The 19- and 20-inch Nutek wheels are wrapped inn sticky rubber. Wilwood brakes with the Aero6 calipers (the first set, according to Tim).
A million body mods include the reshaped cowl, lengthened hood, rear wing, and a thin 3/4-inch chop. The doors were extended downward, and the cab and bed were modified to make them line up. A blown LS3 engine makes 700 horsepower, plenty for driving around, and is backed up by a B&M-shifted LS60 transmission. Carrie got busy in the interior where a mild rollcage was added, and the dash has been replaced by a ’55 Chevy truck dash. The original seats were modified to match the overall style.

Since the truck went a little beyond the original plans for a driver, it was named “Domino.” When Terry and Sarah Rose have finished pampering the truck on the show circuit, their plan is to have fun on the street and maybe do some autocross racing—that sure sounds like driving to us!
