Owner says: “Surprisingly, the 6.0L Power Stroke engine in this truck has never left me stranded. It’s never given me a problem during the 25,000 miles I’ve owned it. It was stock when I bought it, and I wanted to give it a little extra pep along with some visual appeal. It’s still a work in progress, but it’s coming along nicely.”

The One Ton
Year/Make/Model: ’92 Ford F-350

Owner says: “This has always been a great truck for me, but the old IDI 7.3L engine and the automatic transmission were a bit underpowered for my liking. That’s why I replaced them with the 5.9L Cummins and a five-speed manual transmission. I’d like to give special thanks to John Y. for doing most of the work on the Cummins engine swap, painting the cab, and helping with the rest of the truck. My project wouldn’t be as good if it wasn’t for him.”

Owner says: “I bought this truck in July 2014 without the knowledge of my fiancée. Now, she actually drives it more than I do! My best friend is a Cummins guy and said ‘Why’d you buy a 6.0?’ He ragged on me for about eight months after the first high pressure oil pump went out and said, ‘I told you so!’ I replaced the HPOP and drove the truck for 13,000 miles and the part went out again! I’d had enough and sent my F-250 to my mechanic at Dialed-In Diesels in Staatsburg, New York. He’s a well-respected 6.0L magician and I ended up with this build that rides beautiful and tows even better. Plus, it’s one of only a few crew cab longbed trucks in my area.”

Owner says: “This is my first diesel truck. My kids have named him 'Babe the Big Blue Ox' but he goes by ‘Babe’ for short. I've had a couple of 12-valve Cummins trucks in the meantime that I've loved, bought, and sold -- yet I can't get rid of Babe. I've pulled, hauled, and played with this truck. My wife has given me a green light to get a new one, but I just can't do it -- I love this truck! Besides that, they run so much better once they're paid off. A short time ago, my wife went to drive Babe with my kids in the back. My oldest, who was eight at the time, had a scared look come over her. My wife asked what was wrong and my cute little girl said, 'Mom, do you need a special license to drive Babe?' That shows how much I love this truck. He hasn't let me down, ever. I love the look, sound, stance, and the power that he has. Sweet truck! I bought him new, and I’m sure he will stay around for a while.”
