The Boss
Year/Make/Model: ’03 Ford F-250
Owner: Jimmy Lorenzo
Hometown: Miami, Florida
Engine: 5.9L Cummins I-6
Transmission: 5R110 five-speed automatic
Odometer: 260,000 miles
Fuel Economy: 16 mpg
Modifications: 5.9L 24-valve Cummins swap, 12mm P7100 injection pump with 191 delivery valves and 4,000-rpm governor springs, 60mm into 66mm compound-turbocharger setup, ARP head studs, AFE stainless steel exhaust manifold, 110-pound valvesprings, SAC 175hp injectors, and timing set to 26 degrees
Owner says: “I started with a ’99 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 24-valve Cummins engine, made a few modifications, and became addicted to the power you can make with these diesel engines. Later, when I got my ’03 Ford F-250, I struggled a lot with trying to modify the original 6.0L engine. I decided to do a Cummins conversion. My goals were reliability, simplicity, fuel economy, and, most importantly, power!”

It was originally my good truck, but I have no regrets putting the service body on it.”

I added the lift and wheels, but it’s still a work in progress. I want much more. I'll hopefully get a grille and some custom bumpers. It's been a great truck, and I love the yellow. It really gets a lot of attention and looks great, but it can still put in some work. The 6.0L hasn't let me down from a power standpoint.”

I have been slowly building it up as my budget allows. The truck is used for work every day, and it gets taken on hunting, fishing, and off-roading trips in the mountains every weekend. I’ve done all the work myself and with the help of a few friends.”
