Second ’Stroke

Year/Make/Model: ’11 Ford F-350
Owner: Connor Kachuk
Hometown: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Engine: 6.7L Power Stroke V-8
Transmission: 6R140 six-speed automatic
Odometer: 90,000 miles on body, 6,200 miles on powertrain
Fuel Economy: 20 mpg
Modifications: ’15 6.7L Ford engine and transmission, H&S Performance Mini Maxx programmer with custom tunes, AFE Power cold-air intake, MBRP 4-inch exhaust, Fabtech Motorsports/Precision Metal Fabrication 8-inch lift, painted headlights, Paramount Automotive grille, dual 40-inch LED lightbars, and two Rigid Industries Q-Series flood lights
Owner says: “I bought the truck from an older gentleman who kept it stock. The first upgrades included a leveling kit, aftermarket wheels and tires, a programmer, and a cold-air intake. That sufficed for a few years while I finished school, then I wanted more power. So I threw on a BorgWarner 467.7 turbocharger with lots of fuel and hoped for the best. To make a long story short, my stock engine and transmissions were not up to the task of handling 700-plus horsepower and more than 1,400 lb-ft of torque and eventually gave up. I expected it to break at some point. As a replacement, I installed a brand-new 6.7L engine and transmission with just a basic tune and focused on the “PowerJoke’s” aesthetics.”

A Hard-Core Diesel Fan

Year/Make/Model:’13 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
Owner: Cam Chaney
Hometown: Houston, Missouri
Engine: 6.6L Duramax LML V-8
Transmission: Allison 1000 six-speed automatic
Odometer: 48,000 miles
Fuel Economy: 17 to 18 mpg combined
Modifications: Stock engine and transmission
Owner says: “I bought the truck brand-new with 17 miles on the odometer. My goal is to keep this truck for at least 15 years without having to do major work. We already have a truck with an ’05 6.6L Duramax LLY V-8 engine in our family, and it is all stock except for having an ’06 Duramax LBZ mouthpiece. Eventually, I would like to get the ’13 Silverado 2500HD tuned and add some parts to increase the life of the engine.”
Year/Make/Model: ’08 Arctic Cat 700
Owner: Cam Chaney
Hometown: Houston, Missouri
Engine: Lombardini LDW-702 I-2 diesel
Transmission: Arctic Cat CVT
Odometer: 1,000 miles
Fuel Economy: About 45 mpg
Modifications: Injectors turned up, timing advanced 2-3 degrees, TEAM Industries clutches
Owner says: I bought the ATV new in 2008 and fell in love with it as soon as I heard it run for the first time. It’s one of the only red diesel-powered ATVs I have seen in the U.S. It can pull all our small trailers around with ease and is limited more by traction than pulling power. I would love to get a turbocharger installed in the future.”

Silver Square Body

Year/Make/Model: ’93 Dodge Ram D350 LE

Owner says: “I bought this truck from the original owner. It was sitting in a field for a few years and needed some TLC. My father and I went through the truck from bumper to bumper to get it mechanically sound. I haven’t had any issues; the engine has never been touched and runs very strong. My next plan is to redo the interior and get new rims and tires.”

Owner says: “I bought this truck in June 2015 with only 13,568 miles on it, and it was in completely stock trim. I drove it for six months, then I started to throw everything on it at once. Five days a week, the truck is hooked to a dump trailer for work and driven all over the Midwest, and it has never missed a beat.”
