1995 Chevy C1500- Busted Knuckles, Deja Blu
Second Version of the First Truck
They say imitation is the best form of flattery. Sam Shaver has been trying to re-create the success of his first truck, a 1995 Chevy 1500, almost since he got rid of it. After he built the truck, he felt he wanted something much bigger, and he traded with a friend for a dually. After cruising in the dually, he realized that he missed the Chevy. Sam repeatedly tried to get his truck back, but the new owner wouldn’t agree.
The next three years, Sam searched for a similar Chevy to no avail. But as fate would have it, the exact year and model became available only one state away. He was able to make a trade and bring home the second version of his first truck. Once he had the truck, he decided to go bigger and better than his first build by sanding down the body and painting it. Unfortunately for Sam, after the fresh paint job, he collided with two deer on the road. It was back to the drawing board.
This time it was personal, and Sam decided to have the truck body dropped because he had to have someone do the bodywork anyway. Steven Moore at Dixie Steel Fabrication did the steel framework, and it all started to come together. Sam has future grandiose plans for his Chevy that include suicide doors and complete bed work.
When it came time to join a club, Sam decided on the club that felt more like a family. Freaks of Nature accepted him with open arms. As a proud member, Big Sam became the President of the North Florida chapter based on his hard work and dedication. He wishes to thank his fiancé Barbara Miller and his kids for their continued support. A special thanks to the people who helped him throughout the process, including Steven Moore, Sam Parks, James Deas, and Jeff Williams.
