The plan is to add a few more things to the truck and attend some truck shows this summer.”

Going Strong

Year/Make/Model: ’05 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
Owner: Curt Beachy
Hometown: Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania
Engine: 6.6L Duramax V-8
Transmission: ZF6 six-speed manual

Owner says: “When I bought this truck, it was completely stock and in very clean condition, with an Allison five-speed transmission and 253,000 miles. The Allison started to slip shortly after the engine was tuned. Since I like doing my own shifting, I opted to swap to a manual gearbox rather than rebuild the automatic. I drive it every day and tow on weekends. The engine is all original, and it runs well and needs very little work besides regular maintenance.”
