2016 GMC Denali 2500- Nasty Trucks Nation
Raised to new heights
NastyTrucksNation is arguably the largest truck following in the nation. Almost three years ago, a young Travis Dodd and friend Mark Allon decided they were going to start this movement because of their mutual love and respect for the lifted truck lifestyle. Of course, with a growing following that tops 1.9 million followers, Travis knew he had to have some credibility.
As a young boy, he grew up around his mother who was a truck mechanic. There he learned about trucks, and occasionally, got his hands dirty helping. Growing up in Tennessee, Travis decided to get a truck as his first vehicle, as did most of the kids in the area. His passion for customizing it kept growing and so did his taste in trucks. His creativeness grew more wild and imaginative as he kept upgrading his custom lifted rides.
When Travis turned 22, he moved to Sarasota, Florida, to take care of his grandmother Carol. It was in Florida where Travis stepped up his truck game. He found a ’16 GMC Denali 2500 and immediately sent it to Doug and Taylor at Ultimate Air Ride in Prescott, Arizona, for a complete suspension overhaul. The bumpers, wheels lights, and grille were all added, as well. Once the GMC made it back home, Adam and Lincoln at Soflo Diesel in Sarasota got their hands on it, adding the performance components and bed cover.
The next step was to make sure the sounds were perfected by adding a whole Crescendo stereo system. Navid and John at Crescendo Audio and Epicenter Designs added the tunes. To really make the new Denali stand out, Travis decided to go to Rowlad from Suncoast Wraps in Sarasota where he added an Orange Matte wrap around the lifted monster. With some credibility now under his belt, Travis brought the GMC to Las Vegas for the annual SEMA show, showcasing it for the first time in the American Force section.
Some might say it’s a lot of truck for a young kid like Travis, but once you realize the sacrifices he’s made and the hard work he’s put in, you’ll know immediately how well deserved this was for him. He wishes to thank his mother Kim for her leadership growing up, starting his passion with trucks, and always being there for him. He also owes gratitude to his grandmother Carol for inspiring him to make his dreams come true. NastyTrucksNation has risen to heights that only were made possible by hard work and dedication.
