Owner says: “I love this truck. It sits as much as possible during winter, but all summer long it is either hauling my Chevrolet sled-pulling truck to local events or hay and equipment around the farm. All my buddies had diesels, and the bug bit me, so I found a clean, one-owner, low-mileage truck with an LBZ engine and didn’t think twice. I plan to add traction bars, upgrade the front end, and install a TransGo shift kit.”

Owner says: “I got this truck as my first vehicle for $1,350 when I was 15. I’m now 19. The entire truck was rotted out with rust, the engine ran rough, and the transmission shifted terribly. I didn’t know much about the 7.3L Power Stroke engine until I started fixing it. I got a summer job at the local dragstrip and started to rebuild the truck. I didn’t know how to do all of this on my own, of course, but I was very lucky to have mechanically inclined parents that helped teach me what I know today. This truck has been a work in progress through my high school years, and I plan to keep it forever. I’ve become so fascinated with the diesel scene, I actually bought another 7.3L engine that is bored .030 over, and I am hoping to make about 500 hp with it and expand my knowledge of diesel engines.”

Although every time I look at the truck, I think of something else I’d like to do to it. It is definitely one of a kind, and I’d like to thank my dad, Charlie Tyhonas, for getting me interested in trucks and teaching how to work on them.”
