2013 Ram 2500: The Cattle Transporter

An All-Out Custom Rancher

Roger Ortega faced quite a culture shock moving from Chicago, Illinois, to Houston, Texas. Making the move when his parents decided to relocate to Houston for a job opportunity, Roger adapted to the more country feel that contrasted the fast-paced city life he had left the only way he knew how: indulging in the truck scene. He used to tinker with lowered bagged trucks back in Chicago, but with the change in location came a change in truck culture—bigger, lifted trucks became his focus.

He purchased a ’13 Ram Laramie Longhorn Mega Cab from a dealership and immediately contracted the help of Allout Offroad (Stafford location) to handle the transformation. The new Ram was lifted up by way of a 10-inch Full Throttle Suspension kit that elevated the already-massive Mega Cab through the roof. To keep up with the added weight of the lift accessories, the next logical next step was a few performance must-haves. A Bully Dog GT tuner was added, along with an S&B cold-air intake and a full exhaust kit.

ShowTime Metal Works front and rear bumpers were bolted on, perfected by a custom grille. Rigid Industries lightbars grace the entire front of the Ram for cool looks and good night vision in low-lit areas. Plain N Simple added some one-off custom headlights with custom-etched projectors. The Ram was originally spec’d as a white truck, and Roger wanted to do away with the boring vanilla in favor of a rich bronze finish. The crew at Allout was up to the task and wrapped the Longhorn in Aztec Bronze 3M vinyl.

Roger’s family owns a working cattle ranch, so his lifted, gooseneck-equipped truck gets utilized regularly to transport cattle.
