Photo 8/9   |   Readers Diesels 1966 Ford
Khaki Green Ford
Year/Make/Model: ’66 Ford F-100
Owner: Martin Boissinot
Hometown: Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada

Then I purchased a diesel-powered ’07 Dodge Ram as a donor for the mechanical parts. It is a street-legal truck that I drag race. I guess it makes around 1,000 hp and weighs 4,200 pounds, which gives it a great power-to-weight ratio.”

Owner says: “This truck was originally a plow truck, so while it had really bad rust, the interior looked new. I started by replacing the rocker panels and bed, and then I sandblasted and painted the whole frame. Everything was color-matched. Next, I replaced the injectors, fuel-pressure regulator, water pump, front-suspension components, shocks, starter, and rear-axle seal, along with the power-steering and transmission lines. All this was done within one year of buying the truck with 187,000 miles on it. My future plans are to install a built transmission and a BorgWarner S468 turbocharger.”
