Monkey Bizness: 2016 Ram 2500 Mega Cab
A Father’s Inspiration Leads to Son’s Dream Ram 2500
Landon Willis of Oakdale, Louisiana, has always looked up to his father for inspiration. “My father always pushed me to accomplish the highest goals possible,” he reminisces. Landon took that inspiration and built for himself one wicked ’16 Ram 2500.
After months of research and on the advice of many colleagues, Landon hit the go button and purchased the brand-new Ram 2500 6.7L Cummins diesel truck. This was Landon’s first diesel, and his initial plan for Monkey Bizness was to build it as a work truck. By day, Landon is an electrical and instrumentation superintendent, so the truck would be used to transport tools, supplies, and parts to his employees.
As the summer of 2016 hit, Landon had a desire to fulfill a lifelong goal by doing some upgrades to the Ram, so he did what all of us truck enthusiasts do: scoured the Internet and social media for ideas. He came across Cris Payne of the Truck Gurus. And considering some of the builds Cris managed, Landon knew he was the guy to get in touch with. After some chitchat, Landon hooked up with the crew at No Limitz Customz in San Antonio, Texas.
The goal? To transform the run-of-the-mill Ram into one badass, SEMA-worthy truck. In just a few short months, the truck was finished and featured in Las Vegas. Landon notes, “I had many great sponsors and people lending a hand to get this build completed. Although there were some very long nights, I would not have traded this opportunity for the world.”
Despite the Ram’s menacing exterior wrap clad with contrasting Lollipop Red powdercoating, a big 8-inch McGaughy’s lift, and sick 24-inch American Force wheels—a combo fit to make the masses drool—Landon’s favorite parts of the build come in the small details. The monkey details, that is. A closer inspection uncovers monkeys etched into the headlights and brake caliper covers, monkey emblems in the Royalty Core grille and tailgate, and monkeys embroidered in the Katzkin leather headrests. But really, he loves everything about the Ram—and he is still able to use it as his work truck.
