Week To Wicked: Truckin Takeover Day Two- Nitro Gears and Superlift 8-inch lift with King Coilovers

Week 2 Wicked: Truckin Takeover

Well, it feels like we were in the same spot on the laptop just a few hours ago but apparently it’s been a whole day! After a few hours sleep, some fast food and some caffeine, the Truckin crew along with Jason and Christian from the Motor Trend Group tech center were back in action, ready to tear into Day Two of the Week to Wicked Truckin Takeover build of our 2017 Chevy Silverado Z-71. Day One saw an addition of 100-and-some-odd horsepower thanks to Magnuson Superchargers and it went so well that we kept moving right into tearing out the stock front suspension in anticipation for the new Superlift Suspension.

This morning we were joined by Carl Montoya of Nitro Gear & Axle as well as Mike McLaughlin from Superlift Suspension. While some of us were back in corner of the shop with Carl adding the 4.30:1 Nitro gears into the Silverado’s front diff, the rest of us stayed with the truck and did all the necessary trimming to install the drop down brackets, knuckles and everything else we needed before we bolted on the King coilover shocks and raised the Z-71 another eight inches from the tarmac.

For the second day in a row, we finished ahead of schedule, had a good time with the manufacturers of the components we were installing (and possibly learned a thing or three), and are ready to go into the next day with guns blazing! We’re looking forward to adding on PFC Brakes, bumpers, a roof rack, and a shop full of other surprises that we hope to squeeze in before Friday night when we’re out in the parking lot doing 500+ horsepower burnouts with our brand new 37-inch tires!
We’ve got three more days to go, so check back with us tomorrow and the rest of the week for action packed updates. Also be sure to check out our live videos and up to the minute updates on our social media channels: facebook.com/truckinmag, Instagram.com/truckinmagazine.
