Green Machine
Year/Make/Model: '03 Ford F-250
Owner: Dale "Jugernaut" McConnell
Hometown: Harleysville, Pennsylvania
Engine: 6.0L Power Stroke V-8
Transmission: 4R100 four-speed automatic
Odometer: 181,000 miles
Fuel Economy: 18 mpg

Owner says: "This truck was on Jesse Warren's dyno and almost hit 700 hp. His dyno is very tough, so I full well expect 720 hp on a different dyno with fuel only. I will be taking the truck to the track and Jesse thinks the 8,800-pound beast will be able to hit low 12s and high 11s in the quarter-mile. We will soon see. At 45 mph, it will rip the tires with around 55 to 60 pounds of boost. Lots of fun for sure. I'm a Senior Master Ford Tech and have worked with Ford since getting out of the Navy as an Aircraft Technician on P3 Orions. I'm always building trucks for other people and decided to build my own at age 52. I've been a reader of your magazine for many years and said, 'What the heck, let's see if my truck gets in . That would be neat. '"

Cummins K5
Year/Make/Model: '85 Chevrolet K5 Blazer
Owner: Jon Bishop
Hometown: Harrisville, West Virginia
Engine: 5.9L Cummins I-6

Owner says: "The Blazer started life with a 6.2L Detroit Diesel engine that had a Banks turbo kit installed. It now has a 5.9L 12-valve Cummins that is currently non-intercooled but will soon have a water-to-air intercooler. For now, it has the stock -ton axles with 3.42 gears, but it will soon have 1-ton axles with 4.11 gears along with new wheels and tires. Future upgrades include a slip-yoke-eliminator kit and a rear driveshaft with 1-ton U-joints. I've taken it on several long trips, and it gets nearly 24 mpg and the air-conditioner blows ice cold. It rides and handles better than most newer vehicles."
