Godzilla
Year/Make/Model: '01 Ford F-350
Owner: Anthony Amorese
Hometown: Gallatin, Tennessee
Engine: 7.3L Power Stroke V-8
Transmission: 4R100 four-speed automatic
Odometer: 186,000 miles
Fuel Economy: N/A
Modifications: Zone Offroad 4-inch lift, 16x9 KMC Wheels XD wheels, 315/75R16 Cooper Tires Discoverer SST Pro tires, aluminum 2-piece driveshaft, new hubs, LED lights, flush-mount toolbox, N-Fab step bars, 7-inch exhaust tip
Owner says: "I was driving my '15 Ford F-250 out of the Ford service department and saw an old-timer trading in a stock 7.3L-powered Ford F-350 with all the service records and only 173,000 miles on it. I couldn't resist and traded in my 6.7L-powered rig for the 7.3L. I got a few bucks back and an old-school truck without any DEF nonsense or a catalytic converter. I am now hooked on the 7.3L and my son is looking for one, too. Keep putting out great articles. I look forward to learning about new mods from Diesel Power."

Baby Ram
Year/Make/Model: '99 Dodge Ram 2500
Owner: DD Kau
Hometown: Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Engine: 5.9L Cummins I-6
Transmission: NV5600 six-speed manual
Odometer: 128,000 miles
Fuel Economy: 10 mpg
Modifications: '04 common-rail 5.9L Cummins engine, six-speed swap, Banks exhaust system, Edge Products Evo HT2 programmer, custom heart exhaust tip, upgraded Dana 80 rear axle
Owner says: "After spending money on and going through two Code 53 engine blocks, I read an article in Diesel Power magazine about someone doing a common-rail swap into an old Dodge. The urge to figure out if it could be done to a '99 came about. From 2010 to 2012, the truck was down due to a second cracked block, so a search for the transplant began. Since 2015 (after the engine was tested and fired up), the truck has been driveable and has no issues other than the wiring, which still needs help because some of the gauges don't work. All it needs is ECM calibration to run perfect as a daily driver."

The White Tank
Year/Make/Model: '06 Ford F-250
Owner: Bryan Graves
Hometown: Harbeson, Delaware
Engine: 6.0L Power Stroke V-8
Transmission: 5R110 five-speed automatic
Odometer: 18,000 miles
Fuel Economy: 15 mpg city/18 mpg highway
Modifications: PowerMax Performance Diesel-prepared Stage 2 Garrett turbocharger, DieselSite Wicked Wheel; Mishimoto aluminum intercooler, custom-painted piping; Bullet Proof Diesel oil cooler, EGR cooler, FICM upgrade; updated stand pipes, dummy plugs; Red Head Steering Gears steering box; S&B Filters cold-air intake; Sinister Diesel blue-spring kit, adjustable fuel-pressure regulator; ScanGauge 2 monitor; SCT programmer with tuning by Warren Diesel Injection; 4-inch custom exhaust, Gibson Performance Exhaust Metal Mulisha 6-inch tip; aftermarket tow mirrors; LED light-conversion kit; cross-drilled brake rotors, oversized calipers; Boss Audio Systems touch-screen stereo
Owner says: "I use my truck for work as a ceramic-tile installer, and she gets loaded down quite often, but I do baby her. She's gotten me through 5-foot snowdrifts in past winters—that's why I call her the White Tank. There's nothing like a 6.0L Power Stroke when it's running properly and maintained. It can pull your camper and race at the track the same day. She is still running on stock cylinder-head bolts fingers crossed. Future plans are to add ARP head studs and compound turbochargers with larger injectors. She's an ongoing project, but I enjoy wrenching on her (my fianc e says a little too much)."

Owner says: "I've been a huge fan of dualies since I was a child. It has been my dream to have this exact setup, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. It's practical and reliable while turning heads everywhere I go."

Owner: Brian Duran
Hometown: Waterford, Pennsylvania

The truck was built with a lot of help from Steveo's Diesel Truck Service and parts from Pure Diesel Power. Future plans include paint and a little more power."

Long-Life 6.0L
Year/Make/Model: '06 Ford F-250
Owner: Kevin Bott
Hometown: Pomeroy, Washington
Engine: 6.0L Power Stroke V-8

Owner says: "I have owned this old girl since she was new and driven three to six hours each workday on some of the worst roads in the Inland Northwest country, doing forestry and logging work. She has towed way too many heavy loads, crawled through mud and snow, and is even used as the family travel vehicle to all the kids' sporting events. The Super Duty drivetrain and suspension have proven to be absolutely bulletproof, as I have only replaced the ball joints once: one side at 300,000 miles and the other side at 400,000 miles. I also did the tie-rod ends once. We did the cylinder-head studs and gaskets at 220,000 miles before problems started. I have always used synthetic oils. The biggest issue has always been injectors. This truck just keeps going, and when it reached 500,000 miles the plan was to retire it. The odometer is now at 522,000, but I have a newer 6.7L Power Stroke engine in the works for its replacement. This old girl will get retired, refurbished, and used to pull trailers or do other odd jobs for the business when needed. I can't get rid of it; it's part of the family and no one else would want it anyway. We are kind of a 'diesel family.' My wife has a '97 Ford F-350 crew cab, our oldest son and daughter each have Cummins-powered '97 Dodge Rams that are all set up to work, our youngest son has a '15 Ford Super Duty (he had to try three Dodges before going to the 6.7L-powered Ford), and there are four Volkswagen Jetta TDIs from 2002 to 2016 scattered among the five of us. Oh, yeah, the two boys are both heavy equipment and truck mechanics and my daughter works in the heavy equipment industry."
