2015 Polaris Ranger Diesel Side-By-Side

Side-By-Side Off-Roading Is More Fun With Diesel Power

Side-by-side UTVs (utility task vehicles) have exploded in popularity during the past few years, and you can get the ’15 Polaris Ranger with a diesel engine that powers all four wheels. While a three-cylinder, 1.0L engine may sound small, the Kohler KDW1003 packs enough punch to tow up to 2,000 pounds or carry a maximum payload of 1,750 pounds. That’s more hauling capacity than most gas-powered ½-ton pickups.
Along with work capabilities, both the Ranger and Ranger Crew (which seats up to six people) have a ground clearance of 11.3 inches, which is more than 1.5 inches higher than every ¾-ton diesel pickup currently for sale. That’s in addition to 10 inches of wheel travel in both front and rear, provided by fully independent double-wishbone suspension setups with coilover shocks at all four corners. The full-time four-wheel-drive system engages automatically for secure traction during work or fun, and the VersaTrac Turf Mode function allows the driver to completely unlock the rear differential for a better turning radius—and to prevent you from ripping up the grass when your right foot gets heavy.
