George Demchak
Bobtown, Pennsylvania
2001 Dodge Ram 2500
This big blue beauty comes fully loaded. The Cummins diesel breathes through a K&N filter system and five-inch straight exhaust. An Edge torque booster adds more power, with 120-horsepower injectors next on the list. Finishing things are a full gauge package, tinted windows, bedliner with bed carpet, and 37-inch tires on 16.5x10.0-inch Center Line wheels.
Trent Schanen
Cedar Grove, Wisconsin
1999 Dodge Durango
Leaving the transmission and suspension stock for now, Schanen focused his attention on the engine. The 318cid V-8 has a MagnaFlow dual exhaust, K&N cold-air intake, Mopar heads, Mopar Hi-Po Magnum engine controller, and 4.10:1 gears. Already putting out close to 300 horsepower, there are plans to install a new cam, heads, manifold, and rear disc brakes.
Tom Palmer
Deer Park, Washington
1989 International 4700 Lo-Profile
Modifications are plentiful on this custom rig. A 63-inch Peterbilt Sleeper has been added, along with Alcoa wheels, aluminum-clad bed and sides, custom toolboxes, a massive heavy-duty front bumper, Bostrom air-ride seats, and a back-up TV camera. In the sleeper, Palmer added a toilet, microwave, and fridge, all of which make those long trips that much more comfortable.
Brian Wysock
Huntsville, Alabama
1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express
According to the 17-year-old owner, this truck's all original, other than the new interior and carpet. Wysock wanted something he could use as a daily driver that looked as good as it ran. You made a great choice. Next is restoring this sweet li'l ride. Let us know when you finish.
Troy Olsen
Draper, Utah
2001 Nissan Xterra
Wanting more ground clearance, this ride received a two-inch body lift and a 1.5-inch suspension lift, fitted with Bilstein shocks. The Xterra was then shod with a set of 32-inch BFG All-Terrains. A K&N air filter, custom rock sliders, idler-arm brace, and, of course, a DVD player with dropdown LCD screen complete this off-road machine.
Thyssen Ross
New Brunswick, Canada
1997 Chevrolet Silverado
This compact-crusher uses the stock transmission and suspension, but Ross added a three-inch body lift, 33-inch tires, and a K&N intake to help the 6.5-liter turbodiesel breathe better. With Ross, bigger is better, so he plans on increasing the tire size and really pumping up the horsepower. Romp on, you off-road mud monster.
