Real-World Trucks Readers' Rides 2005
Michael J. Muha Byron, California... Michael J. Muha Byron, California 2001 Ford X-350 Cocked, locked, and ready to rock is the perfect description of this urban-assault entertainment vehicle. Everything's been modified on this rig. Fabtech suspension, 35-inch Xterrains, four-inch stainless exhaust, a pounding stereo, three TVs, GPS, HID lights, Warn winch, and a host of other goodies. We love the paint job. Michael Finck Nesconset,... Michael Finck Nesconset, New York 2002 Toyota Tacoma Starting with the engine, Finck added a K&N performance kit, Poweraid throttle-body spacer, stainless Gibson exhaust, and a remote starter. Other modifications include a six-inch Fabtech suspension kit, billet grille, bed cover, and black Rhino Linings bedliner. Finck still wants to add wheels and tires, after which he'll consider his big red machine finished.
Ralph Consiglio East Haven,... Ralph Consiglio East Haven, Connecticut 2003 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 Sporting nine inches of total lift, thanks to Skyjacker and Performance Accessories, this ride's ready to go anywhere. A Corsa cat-back exhaust and K&N air-intake system help the 5.3-liter get enough air, while the Weld Racing wheels, 35-inch BFGs, and wicked custom grille help with the attitude. David Churchill Beloit,... David Churchill Beloit, Wisconsin 2000 GMC C7500 TopKick Wow. This is the ultimate weekend adventure vehicle. Surprisingly, this beauty's packing a 7.4-liter 454cid gasoline engine; we would've expected a diesel. A custom Marmon-Herrington four-wheel-drive system keeps this rig rolling. Add a Monroe Truck custom aluminum bed and a Northstar camper, and you're ready for anything.
George C. Santos Jr. Sharon,... George C. Santos Jr. Sharon, Massachusetts 2004 Ford F-350 Crew Cab Lariat LE The transmission and suspension have been left stock, while the massive V-10 received a K&N air filter to help with airflow. Bumper guides, tonneau cover, Hadley air horns, Rhino Linings bedliner, and a diamondplate toolbox finish off this black beauty--at least for now. Allen Robertson Beloit,... Allen Robertson Beloit, Wisconsin 1998 Dodge Dakota As you can see, this rig's had more than a few modifications. Starting with the 20-inch Structure wheels, a Belltech air ride suspension was added to help the look and ride. The audio system also gets an upgrade with Xtant amps and subs, Voodoo capacitors, Pioneer deck, and multiple TVs. Throw in a flamethrower exhaust, and you've got yourself one hot ride.
