Roush Stage 3 F-150
Coming from an entirely different point of view, Roush has a full line of performance products for Mustang and F-150 owners. In addition, it offers performance packages that group several parts together. Levels include Sport, Stage 1, Stage 2, and the granddaddy, The Stage 3 F-150. The majority of Roush customers want the freedom to choose their own level. A more progressive approach allows them to tailor their needs to their budget. These packages are like building blocks. In this case, the block you're building is a 4x2 or 4x4 SuperCab F-150.
• The "Roushcharged" hood scoop with carbon-fiber inserts comes with the Stage 3 package, as do the side skirts, rear wing, wheel-flare kit, and painted rear bumper. The sporty double-stripe accents are a $613 option.
• As part of the suspension upgrades, Roush replaces the front coil springs and rear leaf springs to drop the overall height of the truck two inches in front and three in back. Completing the package are new Bilstein shocks all around and a stiffer front anti-roll bar. This suspension kit isn't recommended on 4x4 models.
• A Stage 3 Roush F-150 is reported to produce 445 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque, mostly from the added boost from the Roots-type supercharger, called the Roushcharger. The system includes a new intake manifold, new air intake, and a reprogrammed ECM. Separately, the supercharger kit costs $5899.
• Other details include dual exhaust tips, wheel flares, and a tailgate spoiler; however, due to fitment issues, some of these exterior mods are available only for F-150s with the Styleside bed.
• Roush offers a six-spoke 20-inch wheel and 50-series tire package with the Stage 3 components.
