Yamaha
The Yamaha Raptor 700R ($7199) is powered by a 686cc liquid-cooled, four-valve SOHC engine featuring a forged piston and aluminum cylinder body with composite coating for reduced weight, increased cooling ability, and additional wear resistance. Roller rocker arms reduce friction in the valvetrain, which allows the engine to rev more freely leading to better overall performance and improved throttle response. The Raptor gets fired up with an electric start and gear ratios are selected through a five-speed manual transmission with reverse. The fuel-injection system automatically adapts to changes in elevation, and the adjustable suspension provides plenty of travel for rough terrain.

The 2007 Can-Am Renegade ($9299) combines the performance and edge of a sport quad with the capability of a 4x4. Power from the 800cc, four-stroke V-twin runs through a CVT. Engine braking is built in. The Renegade's 4x4 capability is augmented by an automatic transfer of power away from a slipping wheel to the gripping one--all the way up to full lock. The front sport-style bumper is winch-ready. The new BRP 2500 XL winch kit by Warn is a perfect complement for this quad.

Need to load a wide ATV or extra-heavy bike? The Black Widow is a one-piece arched ramp ($289) that's 7.83 feet long and 3.33 feet wide. Made from lightweight aluminum, it has a 2700-pound load capacity yet only weighs 73 pounds. The ramp is coated in skid-resistant rubber for improved traction and safety. To load an ATV with the Black Widow, unfold the hinged ramp, set it on the edge of the tailgate, attach the supplied safety straps, and load away. It folds and can be stored in the truck bed. The Black Widow can be split into two separate ramps to accommodate various track-width vehicles. Other similar ramps require the hassle of connecting multiple sections using bolts or pins.

If you're hauling a motorcycle or scooter with your SUV, check out the AMC-400 carrier assembly ($159). Although hitch-mount bike haulers aren't new, this one offers back-friendly advantage--at 36 pounds it's much lighter than traditional (80-pound) steel bike carriers. Constructed of lightweight aluminum, the AMC-400 accommodates bikes up to 75 inches (6.25 feet) long. The ramp features a built-in detachable ramp that makes loading a bike a cinch--even with one person. The AMC-400 works with two-inch square Class III, IV, or V2 receivers and incorporates an anti-tilt device that prevents the carrier from rocking. An AMC-600 two-bike carrier is also available for $259.

The Ultimate Rack is a rack system that fits in traditional-size truck beds that allows the transport of two ATVs. The rack attaches to the inside panels of your truck and can be removed in minutes. The Ultimate Rack incorporates a diamondplate loading surface for increased traction and includes two 10-foot-long folding aluminum ramps for easy loading. The rack and ATV weight is distributed on the truck's bed, not the side rails. The beauty of the Ultimate Rack is that even with two quads loaded, you still have almost the entire truck bed available for carrying cargo. Order UR6 ($1289) for 6.5-foot shortbed trucks or the UR8 ($1389) for eight-foot longbeds.
