2009 Best In Class Full-Size SUV
By Editors of Truck Trend
Winner: Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon Runner-Up: Toyota Sequoia Times are changing, and along with them, so is the full-size SUV. The manufacturers' dilemma is now how to keep the capability of the big sport/utilities while improving efficiency. GM has done it with the Tahoe (and Yukon). It's one thing to convert a truck to a car-based platform to improve mpg; GM has gone to great pains to keep the Tahoe capable of holding nine people and towing more than 8000 pounds, all while getting 20 mpg (21 with XFE models). At close second is the Sequoia, with a class-leading 10,000-pound towing capacity.
