Winner: Ford F-150 SuperCrew
Runner-Up: Toyota Tundra CrewMax

This is the most varied (and largest) pickup-truck segment, making the choice of best in class one of the most difficult. We had to pick from compact, midsize, and full-size trucks, including some based on SUV platforms. To make a decision here, we followed the same rules as we do with our Truck of the Year event: We compare each candidate with the rest of its competitive set to see which does the best job. And this year, the Ford F-150 SuperCrew gets the nod. It still offers the best towing capacity, incredible versatility across the line, and top-notch interiors (with a flat floor in the SuperCrew's second row). Those who are shopping for a crew cab have so many choices here, it would be very easy to get the exact truck you need--and make sure it's the one you want, too, without breaking the bank. The Tundra CrewMax is a close second, as the new standard V-8 engine available for 2010 has more power and provides better fuel economy than the one it replaces.
