Miami Dolphins guard Cory Procter drives around in his 2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty, the perfect truck to haul his drum equipment, as the drummer for metal band "Free Reign."
The band features other NFL players including Marc Colombo and Leonard Davis, his teammates when he was with the Dallas Cowboys. They are as serious about music as they are about football, and have even scored a record deal with an Australian label.
Procter gives his truck a perfect 10. "It's freakin' awesome and it's mine. It's pretty sweet," Procter says, referring to the first car he bought, after having leased several trucks.
"I like Ford models a whole lot and 250s are good for me, it's not too much power, it's available when I need it and want to tow some stuff," he says. "It's a full crew cab and it has plenty of room, especially because I'm around big guys all the time, so if I ever need to take a couple guys in the backseat, there's plenty of room for them. It works out really good. Plus, I had it lifted a little bit and put some bigger tires on there. I had to beef it up."
Car he learned to drive in
Procter was born near Seattle, learning how to drive in his dad's 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood. "It was a beast, it was awesome," he says. "Front-wheel drive, man, it had a suspension that was broke, it had leak in the line and worked the wrong way. It rode smooth when you only had two people in it, but if you ever had more than that, it would level down and just konk out all over the place."
