Truck Trend's 2012 Best In Class: Factory Power Runner
Excellent Power Delivery and Phenomenal Handling
From the June, 2012 issue of Truck Trend
By The Editors of Truck Trend
Winner: Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
Runner-Up: Porsche Cayenne Turbo There are other vehicles in this category that are faster -- but not many. When we tested the new SRT8, which is powered by a 470-hp, 6.4-liter V-8, it scooted to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. And yes, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo is faster to 60, but it costs almost twice as much. Granted, the factory power runner segment is a little silly, but for good fun at a value price, you can't do better than the SRT8. Now, if you do have that extra $47,000 lying around, the Cayenne is a good choice, too. Excellent power delivery, phenomenal handling, and no shortage of horsepower or torque. And it can tow.

 | These are the 3/4-ton trucks you'd see at the job site -- regular-cab trucks with two-wheel drive. | | Topline power pullers are both highly luxurious and tough. They can tow the equivalent of 10 cars at once and have enough payload capacity to carry the equivalent of a 3/4-ton work truck. | | These Luxury SUVs have the functionality, premium features and are expensive. | | We pick two winners -- full-size van and minivan. This was a tough decision to make. |
