If it's not a diesel I don't care what they test. Stop B.S'n Ford and bring some diesels from overseas that they get.

Extreme testing a 2.7 liter engine in a fullsize pickup?!?! What are they doing, putting someone in the passenger seat???

To Chance Lundgren you are correct motor dosent have to b big because body is big.a turbo n engine has to work together to create hp bigger displacement the bigger turbo you can put on. The larger or more pistons the more torque is created not how many gears in the transmission. A turbo (non diesel) produces better power at higher rpm so the motor is spinning faster which inturns wears parts out faster. Thats why bigger displacement works better for longevity. If smaller was better they would put a 1.0 in semis.

To Sven Strahl yeah go with the 5.0 a safer bet and reliable

People are so stupid, motor displacement does not need to be large just because the body is big. This motor will likely make more hp and tq than the standard V8's of ten years ago and will have more gears to work with in the transmission. It's called engineering, let's leave this to the people who know what they are doing.

my Tacoma prerunner is a 2.7 l4 and I think its still a ton of weight for the 2.7 to keep up, can't imagine a ford f150

twin turbo's , same block materiel as 6.7 diesel. built like race engine for high power. 325 hp. and 370 lbs. torque. gonna be a beast

What is the life span of the 2.7 going to be? That's a lot of weight for a small engine to be pulling. I don't see them getting over 200k miles with out some type of heavy engine overhaul.

2.7 liter? Wow that's significantly smaller than the Ranger had. These little engines in large heavy trucks will be blowing up like crazy
