WHAT'S NEW: Two new powertrains and a minor exterior refresh are the main changes on the BMW X5 for the 2011 model year. A 400-hp twin-turbo V-8 tops the standard X5 lineup while the base model gets a single-turbo 3.0L I-6 good for 300 hp. Both of those engines are mated to an 8A and fuel efficiency is improved all around.

COOL FACT: The 0-60 MPH time of the 2011 six-cylinder X5 xDrive35i matches that of the 2010 eight-cylinder X5 xDrive48i.

SUM UP: Refreshed suv is faster, still expensive.
