Honda Pilot

BASE PRICE RANGE: $28,825-$41,175

WHAT'S NEW: The second-generation Pilot made its debut in 2009 and remains unchanged for 2011 save for expanded availability of Honda's satellite-linked navigation on the EX-L model. All Pilots are powered by a 250-hp, 3.5L V-6 and offered with front- or all-wheel drive. Four grades of Pilot are available, from a base LX to fully loaded Touring.

BEST BUY: A moderately equipped Pilot EX can seat eight, like the Odyssey, but can also be had with all-wheel drive.

SUM UP: A dynamic, but not stylish, benchmark.
RATING: ***1/2
