Land Rover LR2

Base Price: $37,500-$39,500*

What's New: The artist formerly known as the Land Rover Freelander will feature a revised exterior that draws styling cues from the Range Rover Evoque. The cabin will be enhanced and new tech added to the mix. The biggest news is the arrival of a new engine for the LR2, more than likely the economical 240-hp, 2.0L turbocharged I-4 from the Evoque.

Avoid: Not straying off the beaten path. Like all Land Rovers, the LR2 loves the dirt.

Sum Up: New digs and new heart for capable off-roader.
