Developed with the help of contractors and skilled tradespeople across the nation, Ford Work Solutions is a collection of technologies designed to assist the working crew with their day-to-day operations. In addition to providing towing and hauling capabilities, Ford is aiming for their trucks to improve the flexibility and capabilities of their working customers. Ford has partnered with some of the biggest industry names to bring the Ford Work Solutions package to the public, including DeWALT, Microsoft, Garmin, Master Lock, Magnetic Marelli, and Sprint.

I give Ford major kudos for integrating technology into work vehicles. OE integration is a much cleaner way to go than having to hack things up with a bunch of aftermarket patches. That said, it would be nice if the technology were open-source or at least shared so third-party vendors could create additional applications for it. Sounds like they've already partnered with some companies, but will it be compatible with other vendors as well?
