High-speed vehicular combat and spectacularly destructible environments are the highlights of this PC game from NCSoft that takes the best aspects of story-driven role-playing and strategy and arcade-style driving and shooting games, and mixes them into a massive multiplayer online experience that's definitely no fairy tale. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, players drive through the game in an assortment of combat vehicles -- motorcycles, SUVs, trucks, tanks, and sportscars -- they have bought or crafted together themselves using broken pieces discovered while exploring and destroying their world. Different vehicles work better for specific tasks, with each one's play physics reflective of its body type. Available for PC players in the fall, 45 developers have been working since 2002 on this MMORPG title where both horsepower and firepower are the keys to survival in destructive combat set in a fantastic future.
