Product SpotLight: Ameraguard Launches Sprayed Bedliners With "Green" Initiative

Ameraguard - June 05, 2007

By the Manufacturer

As part of the Ameraguard Sprayed Bedliners "green" initiative, the San Antonio-based company has launched a new company-wide program to raise awareness about green issues and to stimulate change within the community that its dealers are environmentally-responsible and are committed to providing the best environmentally-friendly product in the industry.

Since 1991, Ameraguard has taken an environmentally-friendly stance with its spray-on coating applications, from the typical truck bed customer to the light industrial use. The Ameraguard product is earth friendly, eco safe, non-toxic, non-hazardous as well as biodegradable. It is also solvent free and is a natural safe and green alternative to other spray-on applications.

While Ameraguard's unique hybrid chemical formulation provides the most desirable bedliner coating characteristics of toughness, strength, flexibility and abrasion-resistant, it will not produce environmental hazards like VOCs or CFCs that harm the ozone layer during the spraying process. It is also OSHA-approved as well as a non-flammable and non-combustible solution.

So, exactly what are VOCs or the more technical term -- Volatile Organic Chemicals? VOCs are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids, some of which may have short and/or long-term adverse health effects. CFCs or Chlorofluorocarbons are dangerous substances like ammonia for purposes of refrigeration and spray can propellants that are harmful to the environment.

Standard operating procedure for Ameraguard technicians is their personal protection as well as those around them. Common practices for all applicators in any spray-on truck bed or light industrial application include:

• Conducting truck bed spray applications inside a professional spray booth

• Maintaining a well-ventilated air velocity within the booth

• Wearing appropriate gear when prepping, masking and sanding the truck bed

• Utilizing a full-face fresh-air breathing system mask when spraying
