Does your 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor need more power? The most common criticism about Ford’s rocket truck involves the 5.4-liter V-8 (310 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque) sitting beneath the hood but Superchips attempts to ameliorate the situation with its Flashpaq and Cortex tuners.
The Flashpaq and Cortex offer out-of-the-box tuning and are compatible with most aftermarket bolt-on exhaust and air filter systems. Three distinct tunes -- two performance and one tow -- adjust performance by sharpening throttle response, enhancing shift adjustments and firmness, raising the road and engine speed limiters, and improving overall drivability. Power gains are reportedly as high as 33 horsepower and 36 pound-feet of torque on 91-octane fuel and 28 horsepower and 31 pound-feet of torque on 87-octane.
The Superchips tuners are not limited to adding power. Both units can also be used as a diagnostic scan tool, real-time in-cabin vehicle sensor display, data logger, and recalibration device. The only differences between the Flashpaq and Cortex are the case designs and Cortex’s limited two-year warranty.
