Josh Walker’s Ultimate Adventure 2020 Photo Gallery #UA2020
Almost time for Ultimate Adventure Week on Motor Trend YouTube Dec 7-11!
Sometimes initiative is rewarded. Who is Josh Walker? Well, that was a question we were all asking ourselves when a mystery cameraman appeared out of nowhere on our last day of Ultimate Adventure 2020 on the Bikini Trail just outside of Keystone, South Dakota. Ultimate Adventure is shrouded in a cloak of secrecy for many reasons, one of which is to prevent the trail systems we're trying to negotiate with an unwieldy number of vehicles from getting jammed up. This is especially true when we're on open, public lands on which we have no claim to ask people to step aside and let the event through. Most obviously would, but you never know. That's why we generally try to maintain a 12-24 hour delay in the social postings and event coverage, the theory being that once we let the cat out of the bag where we're wheeling, we'll already be free and clear. Well, this year we hit Mt. Rushmore at night at the end of Day 6 and a few posts got out on social media, which Josh Walker saw. Figuring we might hit some of the better-known hardcore trails in the area like Hal John's or T-Back or maybe Bikini, he grabbed his camera gear and took a shot in the dark. Sure enough, he found us.
Turns out Josh isn't just any old dude with a DSLR camera rig. He runs a very nice Instagram account (@imjoshuawalker) featuring some beautiful photography and artfully shot video and is a content creator for C4 Fabrication in the Black Hills of South Dakota (@c4_fabrication). He's also a nice guy who offered to share some of his shots with us, an offer which we happily accepted. In addition to the January and February print issues of Four Wheeler magazine and some of the online content published on the Ultimate Adventure page, do yourself a favor and row through some of these shots Josh gave us to get you excited for Ultimate Adventure week Dec 7-11 on MotorTrend's YouTube channel and MotorTrend on Demand.
