About the Vehicle
Four different Lincoln Navigators were used in the production of the film, and were customized by 310 Motoring of Los Angeles - which has designed cars for celebrities ranging from rap singer Dr. Dre to pop star Britney Spears.
The interior of the movie car is outfitted with equipment any American family would dream of for a family vacation. The interior features a navigation system with a 7-inch special screen in the dashboard, rear console embedded with laptop computer, a second bar console with recessed refrigerator, and designer door handles accented with Burberry fabric. Kids can enjoy watching movies on the 7-inch DVD monitors on the headrests and entertain themselves with the Sony Play Station 2.
For extra bling, the tricked-out Navigator bears equipment to be revered by any self-respecting rap star. The movie car has a custom grille in front, silver running boards, high-powered hydraulics, and customized burgundy spinners with silver spokes.
About Johnson Family Vacation
Fox Searchlight's picture Johnson Family Vacation marks the feature film debut of director Christopher Erskin, who previously helmed videos for such acts as TLC, Missy Elliott, and Boyz II Men. It is also a first for screenwriter siblings Todd R. Jones and Earl Richey Jones. Johnson Family Vacation is produced by Paul Hall, Eric C. Rhone, and Cedric The Entertainer. The film opens nationally on April 7 and is rated PG-13 for some sexual references, crude humor, and brief drug material.
