Diesel Line: Nissan and Cummins Have Been Talking

Cummins ISF
Rumor has it Nissan and Cummins have been talking, with some people expecting a version of Cummins' ISF 2.8-liter four-cylinder headed to Nissan. (A Titan mule DOE project used a similar engine last year.)

Perhaps more telling is that Cummins' Columbus Engine Plant, which previously made big parts like blocks for HD engines, is ramping up for a light-duty (below an 8500-pound GVW at Cummins) engine program, and some of the equipment purchased is designed to recognize left and right cylinder heads. It sounds like the V-8 project has found a home.
