Auto News: Igotshotgun Searching for Crew Member to Join Team HUMMER

April 17, 2007

Continuing to feed race fans' appetite for "insider information," GM's pioneering all-access Web site, www.igotshotgun.com, is searching for a crew member to join Team HUMMER, Rod Hall Racing and the world's toughest off-road racers in Ensenada, Baja California, for the Baja 500.

Seizing the chance to be a desert race ace, winners will travel to Ensenada May 31 - June 3 to the mecca of off-road racing, the Baja 500. The winning crew member will be hosted by Rod Hall, a living legend in off-road racing and the man with the most Baja 1,000 wins to date, and they will have the chance to learn firsthand what it takes to survive 500 miles of some of the most intense racing terrain in the world. The crew member will also hit the trails for a pre-race taste of what the competitors will face, known as a pre-run, as well as join a chase crew in action during the race itself. The sand traps, hill climbs and animals on the course follow the excitement of the pre-race tech inspection and street party that kick off the weekend. Just as cool, the winner will be right there in the action capturing the experience through video and written blogs posted at www.igotshotgun.com.

Known as a tough, steep and technical course that's challenging for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, the Baja 500 is the second race of the 2007 SCORE International Off-Road Racing series and features competitors from across the globe.

To get in on the action at Baja, fans should visit www.igotshotgun.com and click on the "Join Up" tab to apply for a spot on the igotshotgun crew. Applicants will be asked to submit a short video demonstrating their passion for off-road racing and explaining why the dust is worth the glory.

In addition to firsthand perspectives from pop culture fans selected to join the igotshotgun crew at events, igotshotgun includes professionally produced video content and occasionally features celebrity hosts. To date, igotshotgun has sent crews to NASCAR's Kobalt Tools 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Super Bowl, the SONYBMG Grammy After Party, GM Style and GM TEN. To apply for a spot on the igotshotgun crew at an upcoming event, interested candidates can visit www.igotshotgun.com and upload a video demonstrating why they have what it takes to ride shotgun with GM to the best in pop culture.
