Auto News: Honda CRF150R Named Bike of the Year by Dirt Rider Magazine

BUSINESS WIRE, Dirt Rider - May 10, 2007

Dirt Rider, the nation's largest off-road motorcycle magazine announced that the Honda CRF150R has been named the winner of its coveted Bike of the Year award for 2007. This is the 20th year of the award and the first time the winner has come from the minicycle class.

"Anyone who rides the CRF150R will understand why it received this award from Dirt Rider," said Ray Conway, Off-road media coordinator at American Honda Motor Company, Inc. "Thirty three years ago Honda redefined what a mini motorcross motorcycle could be, with the introduction of the XR75. Now Honda is redefining the mini motorcross motorcycle again with the CRF150R."

"There is no standard criteria list for Dirt Rider Bike of the Year candidates on the wall of a cubicle or inhabiting a staffer's computer memory bank," said Jimmy Lewis, Dirt Rider's Editor. "Each of the 19 previous winners had traits that made them unique in their respective year. Dirt Rider looks for machines that profoundly affect a class of bikes, or even all of dirt riding. The Honda CRF150R not only does that, but it also defines a class that none of our previous winners has ever come from before: the minicycle class.

Details of the award and other editor picks are available in the June issue of Dirt Rider.
