The 2008 Resistol Edition Dodge Ram Mega Cab made its debut at the State Fair of Texas. What is a Resistol, you ask? Indigenous Texans tell us Resistol has been the leading cowboy-hat maker for 80 years and is now the newest partner to the Dodge HD brand team. The idea is to attract horse-trailer-pulling truck buyers with this special edition. Probably not a bad idea as we see it, given the success Ford's having with the Super Duty King Ranch package. Initial production will be limited to the topline Ram 3500 Laramie Mega Cab with the Cummins. Additionally, the truck will have two-tone paint, stainless-steel tubular sidesteps, and 17-inch chrome-finished wheels. There will be numerous emblems and logos inside and out. The Resistol Ram is set to launch at a base MSRP of $48,310, and as you might expect, a cowboy hat will be part of the package. And not just any cowboy hat, but the iconic Black Gold 20X felt model, retailing at $400. Trucks go on sale the first quarter of 2008.
