Chrysler financing deal extended: 0% for 5 years on '08s

April 2, 2008

By Zach Gale

In an effort to combat a shrinking automotive market, Chrysler is extending zero percent financing to customers through April, according to an Automotive News report. Buyers of remaining 2007 models can get up to six years of zero percent financing while those looking to purchase a 2008 Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep can take advantage of zero percent financing for up to five years.

Keeping in mind the uncertain 2008 automotive market, Chrysler says it will also target consumers with low credit ratings. "It's not business as usual for customers," said Michael Manley, executive vice president of international sales and marketing. "It requires something extra for consumers to go out of their way to consider a major purchase like a vehicle."

Chrysler hopes the extended financing offers will help decrease the company's inventory, which at the end of March was at 423,607 vehicles, or 66 days of supply. With Chrysler sales down 19 percent last month compared to March 2007, it can use all the help it can get.
