Cooper Tire headlines W.E.ROCK Crawling Championship Series

April 16, 2008

Cooper Tires announced it will partner with the World Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series (W.E.ROCK) for the All-Stock Nationals rock-crawling off-road event that will take place September 26-28, 2008, in Hannibal, Missouri, at the R-Rock competition facility. Cooper Tires will headline the event as W.E.ROCK All-Stock Nationals presented by Cooper Tires.

"Cooper is proud to partner with W.E.ROCK, the world's largest and most respected rockcrawling sanctioning and promotions body, on this first-of-its-kind event for professional and amateur rockcrawlers," says Dave Craig, director of advertising for Cooper Tire. "This new event is the result of a close collaboration between Cooper and W.E.ROCK and is a perfect venue to showcase our Cooper Discoverer tire brand."

This event features tough obstacles for thrill-seeking four-wheel drivers over boulders, mountain foothills, rock piles, mountain trails, and more. Rockcrawlers often drive up, down, and across obstacles that would appear impassable to most drivers. Rockcrawling competitions range from local events to national series and require skill, precision maneuvering, and, of course, the right tires.

"The W.E.ROCK All-Stock Nationals presented by Cooper Tires is the culmination of 19 qualifying events across the U.S. throughout the year," says Dustin Webster, Executive director of W.E.ROCK. "This is a once in a lifetime chance for amateur competitors to compete against the seasoned pros they admire. For the first time, amateurs or `average Joes' will potentially have the chance to topple their favorite pros. It's sure to be an exciting event -- one that would not be possible without the support of Cooper Tire."

Qualifying events for the All-Stock Nationals include the W.E.ROCK Western Pro Nationals, the W.E.ROCK Eastern Pro Nationals, and the W.E.ROCK Regional Pro-Am Series events.
