Volvo announces 2009 model price list; XC90, XC70June 20, 2008 By Nate Martinez
Volvo Cars North America has released its updated pricing schedule for 2009 models minus the XC60 premium crossover scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of next year. Pricing for the smaller SUV will be announced later in the fall. Added to the listing this year is pricing for Volvo's sportier R-Design models. MSRP listings for the Swedish brand follows recent speculation of parent company Ford's possible selling of the unsuccessful European brand as a part of Ford's global recovery plan. During the first quarter of this year, Volvo's worldwide operations posted a $151 million loss. Conversly in 2007, the automaker recorded a $94 million dollar profit during the same timeframe. I don't like pretentious advertising or promotion. There's enough of it in politics to fill my cup to overflowing without the touchy-feely crowd encroaching on my choice of vehicle. more
