First Look: JE Design spices up the 2008 Audi Q7 with Street Rocket tuning

July 7th, 2008

With Porsche's Cayenne Turbo getting most of the aftermarket attention in Europe, well-known VAG modifier JE Design has decided to work its tuning hand on the also popular Audi Q7 TDI with a new package called the 'Street Rocket'.

Key to the package is the "Street Sport" body kit sprayed in Red Rocket paint that features a reworked front end with two pairs of driving lights, more aggressive side sills and a matching rear apron. Finishing off the exterior enhancements is an electronic lowering module able to drop the car significantly on a set of 22-inch wheels. To give the people-hauler a bit more "rocket" in its step, the 3.0-liter V6 diesel receives slight modification via an ECU calibration and a free-flowing stainless steel exhaust system incorporated into the rear bumper.

With the small upgrades, the diesel Q7 makes 281 horsepower compared to the stock 230. In addition, the top speed has been raised to a modest 136 mph. For the Q7 packing the bigger 4.2-liter V-8 under its hood, JE Design offers a more in depth power package complete with compressor system that boosts output into Cayenne territory with around 500 horsepower.

No tuning package is complete without attention paid to the passenger cabin. JE Design gives its Street Rocket customers the opportunity to spec out their Audi's with an all-new ruby-carbon trimming set that replaces all factory pieces with sportier carbon fiber. The seats and dash are clad in Alcantara, while a R8-like flat-bottom steering wheel serves as the cabin's new centerpiece.

If you're feeling as though your new Audi Q7 is looking too bland when pulling up to the valet lot, JE Design might have what your looking for. All modifications can be currently ordered at authorized dealers worldwide.
