The 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab truck was recently spied during a testing session. The 3500 is used almost exclusively for commercial purposes, with their rear beds sporting dump boxes, services bodies, or stake beds. The new Ram 3500 will have 8-lug wheels on a dual rear-wheel setup, making it slightly weaker than its larger 4500/5500 Chassis Cab siblings, which ride on 10-lug wheels.
The new truck will have all-new sheet metal and will feature new upright front grilles and unique hoods different from the shark-nose fronts that come with the 2009 Dodge Ram series. The interior of the truck is expected to be almost the same style as the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. There will be no changes to the C-channel frame, suspension, or powertrain.
A 380-hp Hemi V-8 engine with 404 lb-ft is expected to be the base engine, alongside a Cummins V-6 diesel engine. Available optional factory equipment includes new two-piece trailer towing mirrors. The 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab is expected to make its debut at the 2009 Chicago auto show. The redesign is the first for the Chassis Cab since its introduction in 2007.
