General Motors has its Hummer brand up for sale, but that hasn't stopped it from naming a new CEO to assist in the brand's transition. Jim Taylor, former general manager for Cadillac, has been appointed CEO to help Hummer move into the future. Along with moving Hummer's business operations to the new owner, Taylor also will be responsible for settling ongoing dealer relations. Given the difficulty in moving Hummer SUVs and trucks, Taylor will need to work with some owner-dealers that have invested millions of dollars into their businesses and are now considering lawsuits against General Motors.

With GM's restructuring plans, Taylor's former general manager position has been eliminated, along with the Hummer and Saab general manager positions. Interested parties from India, China, and Russia have been mentioned as potential future owners of the Hummer brand. GM has yet to reveal any names with which negotiations have taken place. One of the big names mentioned in the negotiations has been Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska's Russian Machines.
